Flashback Beauty Friday 50: YSL Palette Pop 2008
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items.
Welcome to our 50th Flashback Beauty Friday post. I'm very excited that I've managed to maintain this feature for as long. If you're new to these posts, then we take a look back at old beauty items, mostly makeup, either from a discontinued brand, something no longer available or a limited edition piece. I'm a sucker for buying pretty things and a big hoarder, so with that combination I have plenty to share here! It was my hope that through these posts, I could (maybe) part with some, but the main aim was for nostalgia and to evoke all the memories associated with these often quite special pieces. Last week, I shared another part of my (discontinued) Versace collection, their Stunning Luminous Eye Shadow. This week, I have a special YSL release.
This is the YSL Palette Pop, collector powder for face & cheeks from their Spring 2008 collection.
I have oodles of limited edition YSL palettes, many are face/eye hybrids, this one however is intended as an illuminating powder or blush or bronzer.
To celebrate 30 years of YSL beauty, it has a very (appropriately) 70's inspired theme. The base powder is light pink with brown and rust flowers in the centre. The word "LOVE" is written in a bright pink glitter along with the centre of the flowers. The LOVE part looks like it doesn't have much depth and will be overspray. I guess you could use a small brush to pick out the brown flower as a separate bronzer, swirl the central colours together for a blush or use all over as a powder.
It comes in a gold mirrored compact with a mirror inside and a flat face brush and velvet pouch.
I've never touched any of my YSL palettes, I just like looking at them, so can't comment on the quality! Do you remember this one?
