Flashback Beauty Friday 73: No7 Sultry Nude Lipgloss

No7 Sultry Nude Lipgloss
Sometimes as I'm writing these posts, I realise I may have had more than the item shown from the collection, this is one such week, but more on that later. Last time, I shared the BeneFit Black Orchid eyeshadow in I Pretended Not To Notice. I forgot to mention that I thought the shade name was weird, but in a good way. Imagine someone asking what colour you're wearing and replying "I Pretended Not To Notice"! It may not be a good descriptor for the colour, but I'm sure the name would stick in your head. This week, I'm going back to an old No7 Summer collection.

My FBF posts have been quite lengthy in words and/or pictures lately, so I'm keeping it short and sweet this week. Last week was the beautiful Olympia Le-Tan highlighter from their second collaboration with Lancôme, definitely worth a look if you missed it.

Lancôme x Olympia Le Tan Cushion Highlighter
After my very picture heavy post last week on the history of Dior's Rouge Dior Lipsticks, I decided against sharing this entire collection that I bought a few years back and just stuck to one item.  Me being me though, I still have a lot to say on one piece!

Flashback Beauty Friday 70: Rouge Dior Lipstick History

vintage to modern Rouge Dior lipstick cases
Quite a picture heavy post for you this time as I'm looking back on the history of Dior Rouge lipstick packaging. Last week I shared the No7 Spring 2009 Petal palettes, if you missed that.

So, Christian Dior began working on producing a lipstick in the late 40's, after a desire to dress women, literally, from head to toe and by 1950, he launched his first.  This limited edition item was gifted to the most loyal clients of his boutique on Avenue Montaigne in Paris, before finally being sold in 1953.  The original lipsticks were like works of art; a beautiful, obelisk shape that looked impressive on your dressing table with a more practical lid for carrying in your handbag. The first Rouge Dior lipsticks were refillable, something that current Creative Director, Peter Philips, has revisited (but more on that later).
