Flashback Beauty Friday 37: Versace Lipgloss

I'm back with another nostalgic beauty post. Last week, I shared the only Bloom lipgloss (I think) I own. Today, I have a brand more known for their fashion line than their short lived beauty brand.
Versace discontinued lipgloss collection
That brand is Versace, which I believe launched in the late 90's but ceased around 2009. I wasn't aware of their products in store, but I found so many things online, (probably as they were being discontinued) from discount makeup sites. The packaging is so EXTRA, as you would expect from Versace and I was so impressed with what I bought.  I actually own A LOT from their makeup line, so today I have my lipgloss collection.

There's various types here, my favourite being the Lights On Lips (silver V 2086-A and brown V 2084-A), which were glitter galore. Honestly I am mesmerised by the silver one, it's absolutely breath taking in real life and one of my favourite sparkly glosses of all time. The swatches later in the post and even in the tube, just don't do this justice at all. The glitter is multi coloured, so sparkly and completely saturated, no sparse, subtle glitter here! The brown also has multi coloured glitters and I used this one a lot.

The shade names of all Versace products were a bit uninspiring, with a V then number. I'm a bit of a sucker for quirky shade names, so there's nothing enticing in that respect from this line-up. The boxes are silver with the instantly recognisable gold border and Medusa head design logo and that carries over into the product packaging.

It's OTT, gaudy, just exactly what I'd hope for from Versace. The clear plastic tube means you can easily see the colour of gloss inside and the wand applicator has a small brush tip. The gold mirrored lid boasts the Medusa head in the centre, it's actually really cute when it's so tiny!

The wine coloured one is a Wet Cream Lipgloss in shade V 2111-A. I reckon this was probably pitched as the most pigmented of the glosses. It's rich colour has very, very subtle sparkles (only visible when I zoom in) and a super shiny gloss finish with an almost metallic sheen. It's like a glossy, liquid lipstick.

The orange (V 2054-A) and lilac (V 2055-A) are Liquid Glam Lipgloss. There's a definite pearl to these in the tube and glitter upon close inspection of the swatches, but nowhere near the intensity of the Lights On Lips glosses. They are a little more sheer than the Wet Cream, but more intense than the LOL.

All have a super shiny, glass-like finish and other than the glitter glosses being quite sheer, they all apply the same colour as they look in the tube.  I loved these, does anyone remember them?
