Irregular Choice: Bag Collection

Now that I'm back to regular blogging, my weekly Irregular Choice posts have returned! It's been a few weeks, so I thought I'd better come up with a corker of a photo for you! I actually bought two handbags from the new SS16 range which arrived this week, but I haven't had the chance to edit the photos yet, so I'll review one of those next week for you. In the meantime, I've been desperate for a photo of all my IC bags together.
I used to buy the odd clutch here and there, but it's really been the past few years that their bags have become EPIC and I've spoilt myself! So last week I set about gathering them all for their group selfie...it didn't happen. My older bags are stuck in boxes under my bed and are rather difficult to access right now (no need for them when I don't get out), so my plans were scuppered. I decided to try again this weekend with the help of my sister and we grabbed all the recent ones which were dotted about the shoe room. Let me tell you as wonderful as group shots may seem, they are rather pesky to set up (and even worse to tidy away) and they tend to be like real people photos (where everyone is looking in different directions or that one person has their eyes shut or is making a funny face). I should've realised from my 'knobble bag' post that they weren't all going to fit, but we persevered trying various combinations, until deciding we needed a bigger space. So down to the conservatory we go and after some more fiddling, we managed to capture them all in one frame (minus the old ones).
I'll admit I just stared at them in awe for a little bit. So many wonderful colours and animals. I've remembered all their names and I'll link to individual posts (where I have them) if you'd like to see them in more detail. Starting at the back left Purfect Pose (cat), in front of that is the blue velvet Forest Fantasy (rabbit) and across at the back right (sorry, just falling out of sight-clearly the friend with their eyes shut!) is the new Thermidor (lobster), all these bags are the same shape.  The rest of the back row are King Of The Castle (unicorn which matches my Tall Tail extreme platforms), Dollface (Russian matryoshka doll) and Cuckoo (cuckoo clock).  KOTC and Cuckoo are similar looking, but not the same.  The 3 in the centre and the four in front of those are the same shape, so they are Deery Me (deer, to match the Cherry Deer shoes), Magic Bunny (sequins bunny bag to match Fluffy Tail shoes), Magic Pony (unicorns to match One Who Charms), Swan Lake (swan), Lil Lamb (coordinates with the lamb heels), Magic Pony (unicorns) and the original Deery Me (deer).  Nestled in amongst them are the sunglasses cases for Flirtation (metallic cat case) and Mischief (floral).  The middle row on the right is my other new one, Flounder (fish) and the leopard print fluffy bag in the front is Paw Me.  The coin purses which match with their corresponding bags are Purfect Pose and then Mini Deer on the right.
I've never been disappointed with an IC bag yet.  I absolutely love every single one of these.  While I really like the shape to look at of the knob ones, they aren't as practical for me, as I like a short handle (and I find the strap slips off, but it's too bulky as a clutch).  I love the shape of the cat/bunny/lobster, which have a front and back clasp opening and short handle (though come with a longer strap too), but Flounder is a new shape for me (though has been come in various forms over the years) and it is wonderful, really compact but holds a lot.  You'll see more of that and Thermidor next, but for now, what do you think of my Irregular Choice bag collection?  Do you own many IC bags yourself?  I'll pop a larger photo up on my Facebook, so you can zoom in on these!

  1. ooOh, the fishes are lovely! I have a lot of the older styles but no idea where to find out what they are called, if they even had names.

    1. You have FAB older styles. Mine are mostly just the clutches. I love the round ones you have.

  2. I regret greatly, not buying the Russian doll one which they had for £45 on the sale floor at IC. Someone grabbed it just as I had walked past. They are fun AND a good size which is a winner combination!!

    1. The swan is definitely one of my favourites, a more subtle style for IC.
