eBay & Discount Codes

Image
Hello! I'm back into the swing of things, with posts a-plenty coming your way. I've just posted another couple of outfits on The Shoe Girl Diaries and have some beauty hauls and a peek inside my wardrobe for later today. I've also got a small selection of items up on eBay right now (ending tonight) after taking a break from that for a couple of weeks, so I'd love if you could check them out (love it even more if someone bought the Topshop platforms as I suspect the highest bidder is someone who previously bought and didn't pay for them and has opened yet another new account, grrr). I also have a couple of free delivery codes you might be interested in. First is Topshop , I popped into my local this week and spied this horse necklace  (above) and couldn't shut my mouth for the next few minutes (no, really). The image on the site doesn't do it justice. It does say '3d', but you have to see it to believe it. There's a complete half of the...

PHP's Beloved Beauty Bits (May/June)

Image
My Beloved Beauty Bits took a bit of a break during May, because I felt I didn't have enough items for a post. I found I've been using a lot of the same things and doing the same looks (makeup wise) for two months, hence the lack of products (especially those I haven't already reviewed). So I've combined this post for May and June. The July one I can already tell will be bursting , as I've bought and tried lots of new products. It just shows how I can go through phases. I apologise that this one is coming so late in the month, but I've just been feeling totally unmotivated lately. I have half written posts and so many photos I've taken (so I've done all the hard work), there's just something stopping me getting on with it. Completely procrastinating! Anyway here we go. Three products in this post have actually been my favourites to achieve the one look. You may have noticed that almost every single day for the past two months (and even this ...

New Urban Decay

Image
You ever have one of those days when you just feel so frustrated? I've seriously been lacking motivation lately (down to the hot weather I think), then when I get a day to get on with work, there's constant distractions from family members and the door/phone, gah! Now I have a migraine, my hair and skin are getting me down and I just want to hide in a hole and blog about pretty things! Starting with these Urban Decay goodies. Oh how I wish this was my desk (sadly the photos belong to Debenhams FB page). UD haven't been getting a lot of my love recently, but the newly refurbished beauty department in my nearest Debenhams now comes complete with an Urban Decay counter. I say 'counter' but it's actually more like a beautiful boudoir. Erm please can I have the little dressing tables and perspex chairs and mirrors? Too pretty. Anyway it means it's easier for me to get my hands on the brand and they've got some awesome new products coming out. Star...

Comparison Swatches: Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector

Image
Seeing as I now own five of the six shades available, I thought it was a good time to compare and swatch all my Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector balms. I've raved about these time and time again on the blog (no wonder it's an award winning balm), so you can imagine I was thrilled to see three new shades launch this year. This is what Clarins have to say about them: A softly textured lip gel with a deliciously sweet scent. Lips are left looking soft, smooth, shiny and plump. Sheer, but has enough colour to wear alone or to complement your favourite lip shade. I completely agree with the Clarins description, it's a soothing, ultra smooth and glossy texture which feels nourishing and indulgent on the lips without being sticky. The shine makes lips look and feel plump and I either wear it alone or over a lipstick. The sweet scent and taste is really soooo yummy and probably the main reason I fell in love with these. I try and keep one wherever I go i.e. on...

Review: Escentual Micellar Water Trial Results

Image
How coincidental that I should speak of the blind micellar trial set by Escentual and the results have just come in tonight! You'll perhaps recall I was sent 7 unbranded bottles of micellar water to try in 14 days. I gave myself two days per bottle, using morning (basic cleansing) and at night (usually removing makeup including eye makeup). As someone who hasn't tried any of these micellar water brands, it was a very interesting trial for me. I favour a wash-off cleanser for makeup removal usually, so the process of using cotton pads and the cleansing water was new for me.  I didn't try to guess which was which (although the rose one was a giveaway) and I jotted down notes of how each performed and slight comparisons with each other.   You can see the overall results  here collated from the 100 beauty bloggers who took part, but here are my opinions. Sample A ( Dior Instant Cleansing Water ): If I remember correctly I picked this as my overall favourite. It w...
