Shoes I've Worn In 2020

Image
Post does not contain any PR gifted items and includes one affiliate link. 2020 for me started off pretty rough.  I'm not intentionally being vague about why, it's just that's not what this post is about.  In a bid to ease what was going on, Mum took me out a lot more than is usual for me.  It was clearly excellent foresight, given what was coming in Spring!  Since the pandemic hit, Mum and Dad don't go out much, my sister has to work and I haven't left the house at all since March.  Most people think that's too unbelievable to be true, but it is.  I'm accustomed to not getting out much, so in all honesty, it's not been too hard or different to my usual life.  I'm not saying it's easy, but after 18 years of it, you adapt to continually missing out.  Anyway, I thought I'd share the shoes I have worn so far this year, actually mostly boots as I was in a right phase in January/February.

Random Ramble & March Haul

Besides a lack of energy or sometimes motivation to blog, I find I procrastinate a lot. Really a lot. I didn't used to be like this, but over the years of blogging, I've become some kind of super perfectionist. If the writing wasn't good enough, the pictures weren't fantastic, the subject matter wasn't relevant, I wouldn't blog it. I'd worry, stress and leave it. Then worry some more afterwards!  Did I want something not up to scratch on my blog? No. I felt my blog was a reflection of me and my abilities and if I posted rubbish, it would reflect badly on me. I want to change that though, because like I say, I didn't used to be like this. I'd write and photograph freely about whatever I wanted, when I wanted and there was something kinda nice about that.  Everything has become less relaxed, very precise, less enjoyable if I'm really honest and that's not a fair representation of me. I'm the type of person that sees a neat row of i...

Primark (Disney & Barbie) Haul

Image
A couple of weeks before Christmas, my parents went through to Edinburgh for some Christmas shopping and a nosey at the festive markets. As always though, they were armed with a list from me, of things to look for in Primark. It's been months since I was last in Primark, but hopefully after the sales have calmed down, I can get back into shopping. Anyway the dress I wanted, they didn't get (they've already looked in Edinburgh once before and Dundee twice, so I think I've definitely missed my size), however they did come home with lots of other goodies and you'll be surprised to learn it was mostly socks and t-shirts. Yes, really! Pearl first brought these super cute Bambi socks to my attention via Facebook and then I almost forgot about them entirely. I was browsing something else on eBay and it led me to finding out about most of these things and thus the list was compiled! I realised they also did Little Mermaid socks. Well you don't have to ask m...

Miss Selfridge: Barbie 'Comic' Range

Image
Oh my freakin' dolly, what is this? A FAB ulous new collection of Barbie garments at Miss Selfridge , that's what! I actually OMG'd out loud when I saw these. I'm generally loving all the comic inspired, 'pow' bodycon dresses and things appearing on the high-street right now (I just wish they came in bigger sizes), so a Barbie themed comic range is making me tres excited. I'm hoping if/when I eventually get some money that I'll be able to buy some of this, in the meantime I'll live vicariously through anyone that owns this (show me your pics if you do)! Like I said, there's definitely a comic feel not only to the prints, but the style. So there's a lot of bodycon and it's hard to judge online just how snug the fit would be and how thin/thick/stretchy the fabric is. The cute mini skirt  above is £22 and... if you were feeling very brave, could wear it with this bra top £24, for a Nicki Minaj feel. I'm so excited to see the ...

Still A Barbie Girl

I'm sure you all know by now I'm a rather big fan of the Barbie range at Miss Selfridge.  I've bought several tops over the years and was pretty excited when they made patterned leggings last year!  I've been holding off placing another order, but think I will now that they've added some more things that take my fancy. Starting with a vest that was 'new in' this week. The  Dip Dye Hair Vest £22 features Barbs with pink hair...what's not to love?  This is a definite 'yay' for me. Also 'new in' are these  Black Print Leggings £28... and matching  Black Print Body £25.  I love that black is the base colour for these prints as it makes them different to the set I already own (that was totally just me justifying it to myself).  I definitely want the leggings, but can't decide if I need the body too?? I've been keeping an eye on these  Love Legging  for ages!  Finally today, they popped into the sale at £15, so I'll d...

Video: Doll Collection-Storage

Image
There's no "Monster High Monday" today for various reasons. It's the only feature I've been able to keep up with over Christmas, so I didn't want to bombard you with yet another post of the same thing, plus it was raining so I didn't get dressed today anyway. I also have loads of other things to catch up on after being computer-less all weekend after a bust-up with my Mum. It was pretty bad! I don't want to go into too much here but it ended up with me almost killing myself by doing way more than I'm capable of, in a bid to prove I couldn't do it (what can I say, I'm twisted like that!). Anyway, it resulted in a huge shake-up of my dolly storage in my bedroom (rather randomly). I used to collect My Scene dolls and had...maybe 70-80. A lot! I've not thrown them out but decided I will no longer display them. I was actually more sad about this than I realised when I started packing them away! Some of them were real cute : ( Here ...
