If you've been following my Flashback Beauty Friday posts since the beginning (the end of last year), then you'll likely remember my Estee Lauder eyeshadow post, where the compact kinda looked like an ice-cube. I loved that packaging, but EL later changed it to a flatter style and I'd completely forgotten I owned one, until I found it recently, so here it is.

It's the Pure Color Eyeshadow, this one is shade 24 Midnight. You can see overall it's larger, but much, much thinner than the original concept.

The mirror was still housed inside the lid, but again larger than the original and this time the compact included a sponge applicator. I can't recall if the originals came with a useless little brush in the box or just nothing at all. If it's the former, I've obviously discarded them at some point. The eyeshadow pan is a half circle shape now as opposed to the round one previously. There's also a change in the amount of product you get, with the older one at 1.7g and the newer one, 2.1g.

I said this in the previous post and I'll reiterate, the compact just kinda lost it's sparkle for me with the flattened shape. For some reason, I just don't covet it as much and didn't want to collect multiple colours to stack, like I did with the cube. I do still like the transparent design that easily lets you see the colour inside without opening it or reading the label, it's a pity they eventually did away with that too. I weirdly don't feel sentimental about this one, but do about the cubes, they take me back!
