Flashback Beauty Friday 41: Bourjois Docteur Glamour
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items.
Welcome back to another flashback beauty product. If you missed last week, I shared the flatter (less ice-cube like) packaging for the Estee Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow. Today I have a small collection of discontinued lipsticks from a brand no longer available in the UK.
They are the Docteur Glamour moisturising lipsticks from Bourjois.
Unusually for a drugstore lipstick, these came boxed. They had a cute concept, as Bourjois tend to, with this "medicine for your lips" type theme. The box lids with the shade names were written over a cross and each box clearly reflected the colour inside.
This continued onto the lipstick packaging itself with coloured lids representing the shade of lipstick inside and a small silver ball atop the tapered lid, which had a medicinal feel. The silver chrome base also seems quite syringe like. I'm always a fan of self coloured or transparent makeup products, it just makes it so much easier to find the shade you're after.
The box states; "Docteur Glamour lipstick cares for your lips: apply daily for continuously moisturised and visibly smoother lips". I expected these lipsticks to feel more balm like, with little colour and a more intense moisturisation (the box says "intensive moisturising treatment" with mango and shea butter). However, I never felt they were mega nourishing and actually some have a lot of colour to them, which was a surprise. They are quite a 'slippy' lipstick, with a shiny finish.
I have 6 shades and I've swatched them all in the same (numerical) order they are shown in photos. 10 Beige Fievreux, 15 Fuchsia O Bobo, 16 Lilas Ausculte, 17 Rose Requinque, 18 Blouse Blanche and 19 Brique Secouriste. You can see that even the white one has quite a lot of pigment to it, but 15 and 19 are the most pigmented and lipstick like. Bourjois never failed to disappoint me with their packaging and concepts. I found an old blog post of mine from 2010 regarding these lipsticks, but I think they launched a few years prior to that. Do you remember these?
