Flashback Beauty Friday 9: Lancôme Juicy Tubes World Tour (Christopher Kane)

It wasn't my intention to have so many of these posts in a row on the blog, but I haven't been feeling great this week, so haven't finished my other drafts. These posts are a bit easier for me to tackle. Flashback Beauty Friday is a nostalgic look back at old limited edition or discontinued beauty products, to appreciate their beautiful packaging and have a little reminisce. Last week was the cute eyeshadow compacts from Pout (sob) and today I have part of my Lancôme Juicy Tubes collection.
Lancôme JT's were a sensation back in the day. Over 20 years ago now, they rocked the beauty industry with this novel packaging of a squeezy tube with in-built slanted applicator with a high shine, almost patent like finish gloss inside. Their different scents, flavours and colours made them ultra collectable and in 2008, they teamed up with British fashion designer Christopher Kane, for this limited edition World Tour series.
Inspired by his international travels, the collection was split into 4 cities; Rio, Paris, Tokyo and New York, with 4 different illustrations adorning the usually clear front of the tubes. I have two from each city aside from Rio, I have three of those.
Some of mine I got in swaps from other countries and Lancôme often have different shades or names in Europe versus Asia or America, so some of mine might not have been available here or came under another name (I can't quite remember which). You'll note some have a curved top, others are straight across, but I don't think that was indicative of where they were from. My shades from the silver (left) to red (right) are; (Paris) Sparkling Paris, Grand Cafe Creme Brulee, (Rio) Rio Peach, Rio Mango, Banana Ipanema, (Tokyo) Apple Shibuya, Tokyo Plum Blossom, (New York) Fifth Avenue Frosting and Red Hot New York.
They have different flavours and scents, some are very shimmery, others just have a little pearl. I do remember the Creme Brulee one being a dupe for 093 Toffee R&B, which was in their regular line-up. After digging around for these, I've had a JT revival. I've been wearing a minty one for weeks, it's almost finished now, so I've moved onto Ginger today, which is lovely. They have a thick consistency, so really stay on my lips (much longer than regular gloss) and hydrate them. I'm glad I've rediscovered these, I'm eyeing up using that banana one next I think.
These sound amazing :-D
