Festive Beauty: Day 10

Today I have some bits from an old MAC Holiday Collection to share and as always read to the bottom of the post for a little treat. I had a beautifully embossed LancĂ´me eyeshadow yesterday if you missed it and my Irregular Choice Festive Footwear is already up on The Shoe Girl Diaries.
The items I have today are from the MAC 2018 holiday collection, Shiny Pretty Things. Now you all know I love lip products, so surprisingly I don't have anything from this collection. I can't really remember the story of where and when I bought some of it and why I didn't get a lipstick or gloss. I think it was maybe at a time when I'd gotten out of MAC, as it had become quite an obsession for me to always buy from their limited collections (I'm back to that now to be truthful) or I had too much other stuff to buy or something. I have a feeling I spotted the powder on counter and was magpied by that and then bought the eyeshadows later (it was actually by chance that I found them the other day or else I wouldn't have remembered owning them).
So let's start with the powder, it's an Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Snowflushed and like I say, it's dazzling. None of the photos do any of these items justice, they are so sparkly and cameras generally hate that. Firstly the puffy, stick-on bow design is just genius and so cute. I've been brave though and used this and I've searched and searched and can't find any "before" pictures either! It's rare I use something without photographing it first (I've been blog-trained all these years), but I've delved into it and as you can see, really dug into one side. That's because I'd been using it as an eyeshadow. Snowflushed is almost a dupe for Stylishly Merry eyeshadow which was released the Christmas before and sold out everywhere and I didn't get it. So, I do remember the hype around this highlighter being very similar (and frankly even better as it's a huge pan), so I'm glad I've got this. I've taken photos from as many angles as possible but it flips pink, green, yellow, bronze, it's absolutely amazing. If you look in the mirror of the compact too you'll see how different the powder looks, it truly does shift so intensely.
Packaging wise this range came in mirrored silver, another nightmare to photograph. The boxes all had the same design, but note the coloured band along the bottom; orange for the highlight, green on the eyeshadows. It's not the most festive or detailed outer packaging I've ever seen, but that bow embossing more than makes up for it. I've swatched it above, but again, it just doesn't capture how blingy this is. It's A LOT as a highlighter, but I'm a fan of noticeable, see me from Mars kinda glow, so I love it. A lot of people though bought it as that dupe eyeshadow, which is understandable.
The eyeshadows are similarly packaged in shiny chrome with the clear window so you can see the shade inside.
Make A Wish is the green one. It swatches much more yellow-green than it looks in the pan.
Major Win is a more unusual colour for me to choose and I'm now getting vague memories of wanting a shade and it being sold out in this collection so settling for this? Maybe. It's pink but with a warm (again) yellowish base. It looks more purple in the pan. Both and actually all eyeshadows in this collection had glitter finishes and that duo/multi tone shift in the light.
After these photos, I wiped the swatches off with a dry tissue and it looked like Tinkerbell had worked her magic all over my arm, it was glitter heaven! No colour, just silver sparkles everywhere! (Swatches from left to right, Snowflushed, Make A Wish and Major Win).
