Flashback Beauty Friday 46: Paul & Joe Cat Lipstick
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifts.
Last week I shared the Golden Hat highlighter from Lancome's 2011 Christmas collection and today I have the debut cat shaped lipstick from Paul & Joe and no, I still haven't plucked up the courage to use it!
The Paul & Joe Autumn 2010 collection was titled Clair De Lune, with this lipstick (66) sharing the same name. There were three lipsticks in the launch and this was the introduction of the now iconic, cat head shaped bullet.
Shaped like a cat with the ears sticking up, the face and details are etched into the lipstick, it's just amazing. 66 Clair De Lune is a mauve-nude shade.
I debated at the time whether or not to use this and if I did, should I use a brush and apply from further down so I wouldn't ruin the shape? My Mum uses the Paul & Joe cat shaped lip balms and properly uses them until they're finished (where did I get my weakness for ruining pretty makeup from then?), but actually since I've collected a few of these now, I have used some of them. The shape is a little annoying at first, but I'm surprised by how quickly it rounds off and you (sadly) lose the ears.
These lipsticks were prior to buying the cases and colour separately, so this one came with the paisley design, my least favourite of the bunch. I'd have much rather had the swan pattern. Alongside the lipsticks were three eyeshadow quints, again sharing the same outer designs as the lipsticks.
Have you ever tried the P&J cat shaped lippies? I'm looking forward to their advent calendar this year, after they didn't release one in 2020. I bought it a couple of years ago and have seen what's inside this one and it looks just as good (if not better), so I'll definitely be getting that (hopefully it launches here).
