Week 24 of our visit to an old beauty item and I couldn't resist sharing this piece today, after the launch of The Disney Cruella Collection by MAC yesterday. It's to coincide with the new live action film coming out later this month. I bought a few bits, so I'm hoping to get photos up once they arrive. Before we start, if you missed my post last week, it was the MAC Graphic Garden eye palette, MAC two weeks in a row, I know, but...!
So the new range isn't MAC's first collection featuring Cruella. Venomous Villains launched for Autumn 2010 and was split between 4 evil characters from Disney animations. Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmatians), Dr Facilier (The Princess & The Frog), Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty) and The Evil Queen (Snow White). This lipglass is Devilishly Stylish from the Cruella portion.
The boxes featured a sketch of the character, each in a different colour, even the inside of the box matched that particular character. Cruella was (blood) red.
The animated character is printed onto the lipgloss tube (in colour), poor puppies!
My haul from this whole range consisted of colours I'd actually wear, rather than trying to collect different characters or complete a character set. I do have the Cruella nude lipstick too. Devilishly Stylish lipglass is a nice everyday peachy nude with a frost finish.
The postcard in the background, I think I spoke about in my last VV post, that my sister got all four for me from the counter in Glasgow (she got evils for it, even although she was buying me loads of stuff 😠). As I mainly shopped online, I never used to get things like this, so it was a rare treat. Do MAC even still do these promotional cards? Not that I've been shopping for over a year physically, but we actually had a stand-alone MAC here that closed during lockdown and hasn't reopened and of course now we don't have the Debenhams one in Dundee either, so I'm back to online only. I'm really excited to get the new collection; the packaging is very different to this old release. I was disappointed there was only matte lipsticks and matte liquid lipsticks (3 shades in each)...I'm so over the matte thing (never really got hugely into it to be honest) and I had to laugh at the look they created with glossy red lips, telling you to use a clear gloss. Just make a glossy red part of the collection! Anyway, here's a photo of the postcard on it's own, it's mixed matte and glossy, just lovely.
