I ordered a few bits from the new MAC Teyana Taylor collection last week and they arrived today. I'm absolutely loving the look of everything, but haven't swatched them yet until I take proper photos for a blog post (and I didn't have the energy today). I did however, look out a couple of glosses that I knew I had in my stash that might be considered similar to But Ain't Got No Manners.
This was the only lipgloss I picked up from this collection and I did swither as I wondered if it was too similar to these two. The second I swatched it for this post, I realised I did the right thing, you could definitely justify buying this if you have both or either of the other glosses in your collection. Also...oh my goodness this colour is beautiful, it honestly took my breath away, it's stunning.
MAC describe it as a sheer nude with bronze and gold pearl. I was immediately struck by the beautiful gold sparkle when taking the wand out and when I applied it, my swatch was very rosy, which I instantly knew differed to the other two.
Which are; Soft Shell from Mirage Noir (purple lid) and Rock Starz from Electric Wonder (marble lid). Soft Shell is a warm toned medium brown with a metallic finish. Rock Starz is another metallic finished in a medium taupe, but is also warm toned (quite unusual for taupe). Looking at them and differentiating between them in the most basic way I'd say BAGNM is rosy, SS more brown and RS more purple. The finishes however are similar, they provide a decent hit of colour and you have beautiful shimmer in each.
Like I say, I definitely think you can have all three without feeling like you're wearing the same gloss. They look more similar in the tube than they do in a swatch and that's what matters. I bought the lipstick in the same category (the range is split into 4 colour stories), so I'm eager to see how they look together. Anyway, I shall leave it at that for now, but will hopefully try to take photos tomorrow and get them up as soon as I can while the collection is new. I'm balancing a lot right now, which is most unlike me, but I seem to have a pile of things all needing done at once and I saw my nephews at the weekend, properly, for the first time since....January maybe. They were on good form and even although it was only a couple of hours, I could've cried once they left as I was so knackered. It was my first time being downstairs and getting some fresh air for a while too, so it't taken it out of me. Anyway, I popped a quick pic up on my Instagram stories today of the bits I ordered from this collection if you can't wait!
