Meet Chuckles

I have to credit Charlotte for letting me know about these babies today. Prepare for the stampede as I introduce you to Chuckles! Mr Gnome heel is of course courtesy of Irregular Choice. I think we should call him "Flopsy: Mark 2", because I feel he could be about to cause the same chaos his little bunny heeled friend did this summer. *release info update at bottom of post*
Statement heels have always been a hit with me and finding such pretty and detailed ones from a non high-end designer brand is pretty rare. The intricate shape and painting on this wee man is impressive and something you'd expect to pay a lot for. If the bunnies were anything to go by though, they were reasonably priced (I thought) and accessible for many of us. Chuckles are currently on ShopAkira for US $169.90, so I'm assuming they'll be around the £100 mark, like Flopsy & co. I've no info of a release date yet, but I'm just testing the water here and sussing out what you think? I'm not sure gnomes have quite the same universal appeal as bunnies, but I think they'll still be popular. Do you think we'll drum up so much excitement that they'll get their own release day and time like Flopsy or are you not as keen on this pair? I'm also not sure if the actual shoe will appeal to as many as the simplicity of the bunny shoe-boot did (I'm slightly iffy about that velcro closure on the strap, although you know I hate those damn fiddly buttons too). I am sworn off shoes just now until the work starts and finishes on our house (gah months!), but when I get my 'dream shoe room', the shelves will be crying out for these little gnomes. I think I'm going to start saving now ; )

Just received this email (above) from Irregular Choice, letting us know the gnome heels will be available tomorrow (9th August) in the UK at 12 midday, in limited numbers.  The email shows black and wine pairs, but not the pink I featured.  I'm not sure if all three colours will be available (or if there is more, as I've already seen the Thunderella patterned ones on IC's Facebook page).  No word on price, but as I say I expect them to be £99.99 ish.  Phew, I wasn't quite prepared for them coming tomorrow, eeeek!  Which colour are you thinking of going for? *Further update:  The pink/gold version is US only, the black and wine will be available on the UK site tomorrow at noon, Thunderella will be coming later (no idea when yet).  The shoes run narrow apparently*

  1. Aww thanks for linking me.
They really are amazing aren't they! I think I'd go for the black polka for ones myself although the pink are beautiful.
I love how they look like a relatively simple pair of shoes from the front and come alive from the back! :) xx

    1. No probs, thanks for alerting me! Yeah I'm thinking the black too, they look good because the gnome really stands out on them.

    1. I know what you mean. I had a Topshop monkey ring, that was equally cute and scary!

  6. I hate the gnome but the actual shoes are lovely! Same as with the Flopsy ones really, haha. Fingers crossed they bring them out with a plain heel at some point.

    1. I liked the Flopsy shoe-boot better than this shoe, but I love the detailing on the gnome.

  7. Yeah, I'm not sure about the gnome and I prefer the bunny, but I do really like the design of the shoes.
I think I'd prefer the wine coloured ones. Xx

    1. Now that I've got them in my hands, the shoe itself is really lovely.
