Flashback Beauty Friday 64: Urban Decay Precious Metals
Post does not contain affiliate links or PR gifted items.
Last week I shared the Lancôme swivel compact eyeshadow from their 2008 summer collection and today I have another cool packaging concept for you, this time from Urban Decay.
Urban Decay Precious Metals were cream to powder eyeshadows in eye-catching packaging, nothing less than you'd expect from UD! They were released in the early Noughties, maybe 2005-ish.
The transparent prism containers had a lid that quickly twists off, revealing a small round 'pot' of shimmering, solid shadow in the centre. Now that mine have dried out, you can easily knock the product out and see exactly how much you get (below). It's very generous, especially as it's one of those products where you use the tiniest amount each time. I wore these a lot in the past and have the smallest dip on most of them.
The eyeshadow is a solid cream and I found finger application the easiest. They weren't wet like a liquid shadow, but 'set' relatively quickly in more of a powder formula. If I remember correctly, they glided onto the lid and performed really well with very little creasing. The colours weren't particularly bold (I think there was another shade I didn't have), but they provided a nice wash of colour that could be built for more intensity if desired.
The shades I had were; Platinum (a silver, above left)
Loaded, was more green (on the right in the group shot above)
and Big Ticket, a light purple (in the centre).
The packaging may make these eyeshadows seem a bit gimmicky, but actually they were really good and worth the money. Do you remember these?
